May's Holdings

May holds that beautiful early summer weather and my littlest sister’s birthday.  Who's old enough to drive a car now and nearly done with high school. She was the flower girl in our wedding…Sigh.

And it’s usually a very busy time for us.  Not so this year.  May was officially the third month at home and at that point we were still feeling a fantom limb aching for our old schedule-which was a gorgeous 45 minute one-way commute three times a week to therapy, with an occasional Target trip on Saturday mornings, and church on Sunday followed by lunch at Zoe’s.  Which is closed now…Deep sigh.

Since we’ve been homebound, I’ve been looking about the house and thinking that if we’re going to be here everyday, we could maybe address some issues.  So, in a rare burst of energy I caulked our windows and retouched the paint on our walls and stairs.  I also found this tryptic map on Poshmark and Daniel hung it above our entry area.  Love it.  Our house is nearly all white but we have a few pops of dark blue here and there.  I adore warm earth tones, but find that I gravitate towards cool calm colors for our house.  I like calm.

We also found a free sofa on facebook marketplace that Daniel and a friend picked up.  Our sofa was 12 years old and had been ‘done unto'/grated by little girl AFOs.  We were very thankful to find this guy. It had nailhead trim and down filling, which was pretty fancy for our low key place, so we painstakingly removed all the trim and steamed the divots.

May was another month of good weather for my Goldilocks girls.  Arthrogryposis comes with a side of low muscle tone.  Our muscles act as part of our temperature regulators so the girls tend to be pretty sensitive to hot and cold.  They prefer 60s and 70s, which May was kind enough to oblige.  So we took advantage.
