June's Holdings

June brings summer to Arkansas and this one was refreshingly mild with wildflowers galore.

June was our fourth month home.  June was the month where I felt we began to find a new rhythm and begin to appreciate slowing down.  June was also when I started to realize that the girls would not be returning to their therapy clinic until (basically) there was a COVID vaccine. This means that we will have home health physical therapy twice a week and stay home.  This means that life out here is S L O W.  And relaxed, for that matter.

This year also brought a quick socially distanced (how weird is this new normal???) visit from my mom and middle sister where we went through treasures from great grandmother Audrey’s closet and the girls also received a custom gift from their Aunt Rachel.  Vintage pieces and forest art *perfection.*

June also brought Evalena Claire Claire’s birthday!  Evalena Claire, our little bright life, is an 11 year-old absolute joy.  Eva is full of grace and kindness.  When people remark on Eva, they say, “she’s special, isn’t she?”  And they don’t mean the obvious, that she has special needs; they are referring to this quality about her that is unique and pure and beautiful.  Love radiates from her. She lets her light shine. Eva can also be silly, absolutely resolute, and can catch you off guard with her insightful remarks.  She is a deep thinker and a life enjoyer.
