April's Holdings
I mostly think of months regarding what they hold. April holds my middle sister's birthday, cool early spring weather, Easter, and Audrey's birthday. Usually in that order. Since I already sort of covered the early part, here's the middle-end.
April was the beginning of our second month of quarantine. We were still feeling claustrophobic because we weren't able to run about and do things that we normally do. So, we took advantage of the cool weather and made some "trips" around the house.
Daniel made me a custom mailbox. All the heart eyes on this! I showed him one inspiration pic, and he made the rest happen out of scraps. He's a magician. It strangely resembles our house and conveniently fits lots of Poshmark packages.
Our resident ground hog, Phyllis Connors, aka Fat Napper had pups! They were so fun to watch!
My middle sister sent over some custom art coloring pages! Audrey's was Jo from Little Women (BBC version Maya Hawke of course!), which is Eva's if not both girls' favorite movie. Eva's was Gollum, whom she adores! Eva's got a spot for the bad guys. Hey, everyone needs grace!
And then Audrey turned 12.
We have a 12 year old.
Audrey is such a gift. She is what we call, A Bold Woman. I'm sure if when she's older she takes those personality tests, it'll say something like, "You are decisive and strong. Don't let others tell you you're bossy. You get things done when others just while away the time...etc." What I would tell her is something like, "Audrey, you have a servant's heart, just like Jesus. You help others as an expression of your love. You are strong and bold and justice is very important to you. You also have a delightful silly side and the best laugh. It's a fantastic cackle. Please don't ever feel defined by what you do or can't do, how you act or don't act. Rather, remember that your identity is simply beloved daughter of God. All that other stuff is noise. Good noise mostly, but still noise."
